TTWO Stock Update: My Pokémon Is Starting to Stir ⚡

October 9, 2026 | OBORDA — OBserve. ORient. Decide. Act.

My TTWO Pokémon is finally showing signs of life!

As of 9:54 a.m. ET on October 9, Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ: TTWO) was trading around $215, up 2.69%, after reaching an intraday high of $215.35.

Not bad for a Pokémon that’s been testing my patience. 😂

My position is already secured, so I’m not chasing today’s move. I’m watching to see whether this recovery has staying power.

But people sometimes wonder why I treat TTWO differently from the other stocks in my portfolio.

There’s a reason. Me and GTA have history.

And with GTA VI scheduled to arrive in just 41 days, something has occurred to me: GTA isn’t the only thing that’s evolved over nearly three decades. So have I.

It All Started With Ernest in November 1997

I was in college when my roommate Ernest walked through the door carrying a bag.

Inside was a copy of a new video game called Grand Theft Auto.

He started explaining the concept. Instead of playing the hero, chasing criminals and saving the world, we were going to BE the criminals.

My first reaction?

“WHOA … WE’RE THE BAD GUYS?!?!”

I HAD to play this game! 😂

Remember, this was 1997.

The original GTA was a top-down crime sandbox where players stole cars, completed jobs, earned points and ran from police across three fictional cities: Liberty City, San Andreas and Vice City.

The game grew out of an earlier development concept called Race’n’Chase, which focused more heavily on driving and police pursuits. Somewhere along the way, somebody decided to flip the script.

Why chase criminals when you could play as one?

That idea hooked me. Little did I know Ernest was introducing me to a franchise I’d still be following almost 30 years later.

Here’s an interesting bit of business history: GTA wasn’t originally published by Take-Two. BMG Interactive published the first game, and Take-Two acquired BMG’s gaming business in 1998. Even the business behind GTA was beginning an evolution of its own. Read Take-Two’s historical filing.

GTA Evolved. So Did I.

The original GTA looks almost primitive compared with today’s games. But in 1997, that concept was revolutionary to me.

I watched GTA develop into increasingly immersive virtual worlds with richer graphics, characters and storytelling. During those same years, I was evolving too.

Back then, I was a college student enjoying video games and figuring out adulthood. Today, I’ve built a career, developed financial discipline and become an investor.

As someone who grew up around computers, I compare GTA’s evolution to Microsoft’s progression from Windows 3.0 to Windows 11. The technology, capabilities and experience have changed dramatically, but the underlying concept endured.

What fascinates me is the longevity of an idea that keeps finding new ways to remain relevant.

Today’s GTA Players Are Creating Their Own Entertainment

I sometimes watch GTA roleplay streams and get completely caught up in the stories young content creators develop.

The characters. The relationships. The conflicts. The betrayals. The plot twists.

Some of these stories are so elaborate that they feel like full-blown cinematic productions. Except they aren’t necessarily written by Hollywood studios. They’re created by people using GTA as their stage.

And some of these stories are INCREDIBLE!

Much of that roleplay community operates within GTA V and its associated multiplayer ecosystems, including FiveM. Learn more about Cfx.re and Rockstar Games.

That distinction matters. I’m not assuming GTA VI’s future online or roleplay features will replicate GTA V’s established communities.

But from an investment perspective, the broader phenomenon is fascinating. I’m watching another generation take the franchise Ernest introduced me to and find completely new ways to enjoy it.

That’s the kind of product longevity that makes me pay attention to a business.

Whether that cultural influence translates into sustained revenue and shareholder value is a separate question.

They Said Video Games Would Turn Us Into Criminals 😂

Remember the controversy surrounding violent video games?

For years, critics worried that games like GTA would encourage young people to become violent or commit crimes. And there I was in college, excited because a video game finally let me play the bad guy.

Well, almost 30 years later, I have an update.

I didn’t become a criminal.

I went to work, built a career, earned a living and learned how to invest. I enjoyed playing a criminal in a fictional world without needing to become one in real life.

And somewhere along the way, something interesting happened.

I made enough money to go from player to investor.

In 1997, I was spending money to play GTA. In 2026, I’m investing money in the company that owns GTA.

I went from stealing virtual cars to owning a small piece of the business that lets millions of people steal virtual cars. 😂

Now THAT is character development!

My experience doesn’t resolve the broader debate about violent video games. But my own life certainly didn’t follow the outcome some critics feared.

Why I Invest in TTWO: Belief Meets OODA Discipline

Warren Buffett has long emphasized thinking like a business owner rather than simply trading stock prices. That philosophy resonates with me.

I’ve experienced GTA as a customer, followed its development and watched new generations discover creative ways to enjoy it. That history explains why I follow TTWO so closely.

But believing in a company doesn’t mean its shares are attractive at every price.

My experience gives me conviction. My OODA framework keeps that conviction accountable.

I still evaluate fundamentals, valuation, catalysts, risk, competition and opportunity cost before committing capital.

And there is a financial case worth examining.

In its August 2026 earnings report, Take-Two reported approximately $1.39 billion in fiscal first-quarter 2027 net bookings and reiterated full-year net bookings guidance of $8.0 billion to $8.2 billion. Management linked that outlook partly to the anticipated November 19 GTA VI launch. Source: Take-Two fiscal Q1 2027 earnings release.

That’s meaningful potential, but it also creates expectations the company must meet. Net bookings are not the same as profit or free cash flow, and a successful launch doesn’t guarantee a good return at every stock valuation.

That’s why I use OODA. Nostalgia doesn’t override the numbers.

My investment process didn’t begin with today’s rally. In my September 25 TTWO accumulation update, I explained why the stock around $201 was attractive enough for staged buying, while preserving cash.

Here’s where TTWO stood at approximately 9:54 a.m. ET on October 9, 2026. This is an intraday snapshot, not a closing price.

Today’s strength is encouraging. But one positive morning doesn’t establish a sustained recovery.

My previously established OODA accumulation zones remain useful reference points. The original analysis is in my September 24 TTWO buy-zones article.

Price rangeOODA action
Above $245No new buys / Consider trimming
$225–$245Watch
$205–$225Starter
$190–$205Accumulation
$175–$190High conviction
Below $175Reassess

At approximately $215, TTWO remains in my starter zone. These are previously established decision levels, not updated estimates of fair value.

I’m already invested. My objective isn’t to chase every price increase; it’s to see whether the recovery is supported by improving evidence.

My OODA Check-In

OBSERVE: TTWO is trading approximately 2.69% higher during the early October 9 session, showing momentum after recent weakness.

ORIENT: GTA VI is a potential catalyst, but expectations are high. Release execution, financial performance and valuation remain important.

DECIDE: Maintain my established position rather than react emotionally to short-term momentum.

ACT: Monitor three developments:

  • Holding $205: A sustained breakdown below this level would prompt me to reassess the near-term recovery thesis.
  • Reclaiming $225: Sustained strength above this level would improve the technical picture, without automatically triggering a purchase.
  • GTA VI execution: Track release timing, management guidance and subsequent sales performance instead of relying on launch excitement alone.

These are checkpoints, not automatic buy or sell orders. My position is secured, and cash remains an alternative to chasing higher prices.

The Pokémon is moving. But it hasn’t earned another badge yet.

41 Days Until GTA VI: Coming Full Circle

The original Grand Theft Auto arrived in November 1997. GTA VI is scheduled for November 19, 2026 — twenty-nine years apart, and just 41 days away as of this October 9 article. Source: Rockstar Games’ official GTA VI page.

In November 1997, I was a college student watching Ernest pull a video game out of a bag. In November 2026, I expect to watch the next generation of that same franchise launch.

Except this time, I’m not just a customer. I’m a shareholder.

GTA evolved from a top-down crime sandbox into a global entertainment franchise. I evolved from a college student spending money on games into an investor who could own a piece of the business behind them.

Wall Street doesn’t care about my memories of Ernest. 😂 GTA VI still has to deliver commercially, and Take-Two still has to justify its valuation.

But I can’t help appreciating the coincidence.

November 1997: I discovered GTA.

November 2026: I get to experience GTA VI as an investor.

The game evolved. I evolved. And now we’re approaching another milestone.

The Pokémon Trainer’s Verdict ⚡🎮

My other Pokémon have been collecting badges while TTWO has been testing my patience. But this one has history.

I’ve watched GTA evolve while evolving myself, and that’s why the franchise means something different to me. That doesn’t guarantee investment returns. It simply explains why I’ve followed the business for so long.

My position is established. My OODA discipline remains intact.

TTWO, I’ve been supporting you since 1997.

I’ve evolved from player to investor.

Now it’s your turn to evolve my investment! 😂⚡
